A complaint about guest speakers

Yes I know dear Facebook but nothing grinds my gears more (other than watching the Saints or LSU do something extremely dumb) than a guest speaker at a mandatory training who says “Let’s try that again” after they don’t get the response they want when greeting their audience. Hey a-hole, nobody is excited to hear you speak including yourself so just hurry it up and quit wasting time trying to get everyone else to greet you more cheerfully. Get the show on the road and present your boring slide show. Rant ON [OFF]

When Jeb Bush was running for president in 2020, he was doing a small rally, and after a particular line he expected to get a reaction, no one did anything. That’s when he said,” ok, this is the part where you clap!” So cringe worthy

Saw DeBoer speak a few weeks ago at a breakfast reception. He started off by saying “Roll Tide!….oh you can do better than that! Give me a Roll Tide!”
My eyes rolled into the back of my head. So generic and so lame. Every basic corporate speaker does it.

I’ve only seen it in person a couple of times, but both times I went from a polite “good morning/whatever” to raised eyebrows and dead silence as a response. We’re adults, not school children.

If you pervs would quit watching porn on the company PCs you wouldn't have to hear my lecture in this sexual harassment workshop and we'd all be happier.

This is exactly what I’m referring to. At least though he’s cooler than your average HR ”expert” to see speak in person.

You mean somebody whose day job is in a completely different industry and knows nothing about your job, but they have a side gig with a training firm that hires peppy people from a local improv group?
What's not to love about that?
