whew. My kid is OK. From her school:
Dear families,
Today shortly after 3:00, we were alerted to an incident on 3rd Street, and there were deputies in the parking lot across from the church. Even though there did not appear to be a threat to our community, we kept students in classrooms with their teachers for about thirty minutes until we received an "All Clear" from the sheriff. We will continue to prioritize student safety each and every day. Many thanks to you for entrusting us with the precious gift of your children.

Who in the hell would drive downtown to evade the cops from a shooting on N. Foster Dr.? isn’t there a precinct on 3rd st?

This was just a publicity stunt by the mayor and police chief.
Come on a shooting suspect that the BROD caught and then they chose the perfect place for the photo to “visit Baton Rouge”. Only way hey could have done better is the president of the Downtown development was out front.

They were just protesting for the $23 minimum wage. The surprise twist is that they don't have jobs or ever will.
