A call for unity

We can obviously all see the divisive forces in play nationwide and it only seems to be getting worse. One of my favorite moments in life was being in the dome for the Saints / Falcons game after Katrina. Why? Bc we were all one big family. Yes we were all different, but we celebrated life, each other, and our being on the same team.
How the hell do we get back to that? I see so many ppl on a daily basis that just want to live their life and not be bothered with all of this racial dividing crap. Someone posted the first pitch video in yankee stadium after 911 a few days back and it gave me chills. When we are united we are completely unstoppable as a country and quite simply the quality of life for everyone goes up dramatically.
Idk what the hell to do to improve things, sure seems like we have a lot of poison in our nation right now. Just figured I would “start the conversation”. It’s time for the divisive puppeteers to get pushback.

That Social Dilemma doc did a good job of concisely illustrating how the Internet fuels division and hatred instead of unity and understanding.

I think that people really need to get off of the internet and turn off both CNN and Fox News.
The internet today is just an absolute toxic place that gives people an opportunity to spew whatever thoughts they want to. Also, a shite ton of trolls who can hide and stir the pot anonymously.
The 24 hour media just panders to their audience and fear mongers to keep them coming back.
I feel that the vast majority of Americans are just living their lives and just want to move along without any bull.

I helps to remember that there's an industry of people whose business model is to profit from exaggerating relatively minor political differences into Epic Controversies. I think decent human beings are already united. They may not openly express that, but will make it known come November.
