It has an app too, I start running it from my phone at work around 3 and living room is cool when I get home.

We have a similar age and style house. A/c can't cool below 76 in the afternoon. I bought a single hose Toshiba a few years back just thinking I would use it with my generator in an emergency. We're running it daily now to keep whatever room we're in reasonable. It's ridiculous. Loud as hell but don't care.
