o now it's the family's fault he got left on the bus? You have no idea why this kid was sleepy in the morning and neither do I. For all we know he could be scared of the dark or have sleep problems other than his aunt not making him go to bed. You cannot force a child to fall asleep.
Not to mention that fact that freaking Daylight Savings Time just started, meaning the kid was waking up an hour earlier than normal! I swear, the people on this board are constantly looking for reasons to make things like this into some failing of the parents/guardians when it was clearly a case of an 8 year old being tired because of DST and a school bus driver being careless.

Because she likes to arrive early for work?

Were you people all just not paying attention when the time changed on Sunday? This is not an indication of some parental failing.

No, cause the city bus don't go dat way.

You can't, but what you can do is make sure they're in bed by a reasonable time (for a second grader is probably 8/8:30. Make them read before bed to wind down. It's definitely not possible in all circumstances but a good bedtime routine does wonders for a kid.
So the assumption is he was not in bed by 830 and does not have any nighttime routines. Gotcha

Jesus Christ. Just more evidence that the OT loves to blame the victim.

bet that kid was freaking out...
When I was that age I fell asleep and just missed my stop and freaked out. Bus driver went back and let me off at my house after he finished the route.

Not sure why the aunt is saying no one contacted her

Not sure why you feel compelled to act like a retard most of the time but I was responding to someone stating that this is the fault of DST.

why didnt he get off the bus? maybe a 5 year old but at 8 it seems he would have had the sense to get off the bus and go get help.

Why would someone need to drive their kid to school if there is a bus service to their home?

I don't know. Maybe he was special ed? Maybe the bus was parked in some remote location or in a gravel driveway in front of some trailer and he was scared shitless? Buses are not always left on school grounds, especially in rural areas
