I am pretty sure Midway was an offensive.

You don't sink four enemy carriers by accident.

Remember that we had broken the Japanese code and knew where they would be and when.

whatever, it is a real photo, and it looks like a lot of pics of remains that were on the receiving end of napalm/flame throwers(that expel napalm)

Didn't use napalm until later in the war. First flame thrower didn't get to the canal until January 1943. This guy took the photo in 1942

No.

The Japanese were on the offensive at Midway whilecwe were on the defensive. Their goal there was to take Midway from the US and lure the remnants of the Pacific Fleet into open battle and destroy it. However, we lured them into our own trap and the rest is history.

The best way to describe Midway is it was a Japanese offensive that was defeated by American naval forces via a ambush style counterattack.

I think that the water-cooled version had a superior "sustained automatic fire" capability because it was water-cooled. I also think I remember that the USMC at Guadalcanal had this water cooled version.

So that version of this weapon was probably better to have on hand at Guadalcanal to repulse Japanese Banzai charges.
