The point is how do you know that?

You can't know until put in that position

We certainly glorify our current servicemen and women. When you say we Americans suck today you include them. Do you understand at all my point or do all you have to ad is another smartass retort?

I can. And I agree, it's a blanket statement which by its very nature makes it incorrect. On a side note you did help me win an argument my wife she was convinced I was the worst f*** in the world, now she knows better

In order to find out, a few years ago I personally invaded Ship Island

Met little initial resistance, but maintaining a permanent beachhead proved problematic. Eventually made a strategic withdrawal to the hard rock casino

I'm not certain we will ever see a war like ww2 or ww1 ever again.

There was large dissent to both WWI and WWII

The past has been romantized dramatically

We'd have to have a Pearl Harbor type attack to quell most dissent. Even then I'm sure we'd have some protestors.

After 911, enlistment soared and near to everyone was united in stoppping terrorism.

The sane would happen today in the event of another world war. People are different but at our core we remain good.

The WTC was destroyed and people were calling in to black radio stations saying the chickens had come home to roost

The English historian Mary Beard said the same thing, which is why I refuse to watch her TV shows
