I really don't get why so many people are getting upset over this. He has every right not to stand up if he doesn't want to. Just like 32 NFL teams have the right to not sign him ever again.
Furthermore, he's not shining a spotlight on his issue. But actually putting the spotlight on himself.

i think it's the hypocrisy.
Basically calling "white people" the Devil. When he himself is definitely closer to Caucasian racially, was raised by "white people" plays a sport that is funded in large part by "white people".

All of this. I disagree with him but agree with his right to do so. Realistically, you're qb barely hanging onto your job. Not sure if it is good to put this bad publicity on you.

Because he brought the racial aspect into it.
No one would really care if he didn't stand if he just shut his trap about it but HE decided to shout it from the rooftops and make it a big deal.
