Every song on that album was great and they made a shift in their tone to compliment Brian Johnson’s vocals. Some of my favorite AC/DC album are Back in Black, flick of the switch, and fly on the wall. Razors edge his voice got too shrill for me even though shoot to thrill is probably my favorite AC/DC song. My 5 year olds favorite song is the Live at Donington version of Shoot to Thrill.

I remember the first time I heard Back in Black I thought WTH is THAT?

A few years later AC/DC became one of my favorite bands.

Mutt Lange produced and was the secret weapon of this album. He demanded perfection. Same way he was with Def Leppard. He pushed both bands to get it right no matter how many hours they had to spend in the studio. That’s how you get to pound prime Shania Twain.

quote:

Lange focused particular attention on Johnson's vocals, demanding perfection out of each take.[21] It was like, 'Again, Brian, again – hold on, you sang that note too long so there's no room for a breath'. He wouldn't let anything go past him. He had this thing where he didn't want people to listen to the album down the road and say there's no way someone could sing that, they've dropped that in, even the breaths had to be in the right place. And you cannot knock a man for that, but he drove me nuts. I'd be sitting there going, 'Arrggghh!' — Brian Johnson

Hey White Bear, who cringed at the OP statement:

#2 album in sales of all-time, behind Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller”.

Yes, it is a legendary album.

Simply not my favorite. Too linear and repetitive plus that shite has been played to death.

Def Leppard’s Pyromania was one of my favorites too.

I remember going to crystal beach in Florida with some buddies in high school spring break and my buddy puts down his massive boom box and the first song was some Kiss or AC/DC song that echoed through the sand and the the beach cleared out like we had the plaque or something. Most were gone before the first song was done. (Old people and young families etc) it was like something like out of a movie. eventually some fine teenager girls from Jersey heard our mating call and found their way to our section of the beach and a good time ensured.

The heavy metal mating call worked again. Lol

Hell's Bells and Have A Drink On Me are close seconds.

The whole album is one great song after another. One of the best rock albums of all time.
