Most I know resigned before the #AllLivesMatter BS. They were pissed at the lack of a plan after the parade last year and they crappy ball.

Remember, this is the same lady/krewe that had a press conference to announce a summer parade, that the city had no f'n idea what she was talking about. She's already made them look bad once.

A lot of krewes are struggling right now, because now is the time to start collecting dues (if not already) and start making decisions and ordering for costumes, krewe throws, figuring out float design, etc.
And no one knows if LaToya will actually let them parade next year.
Members in many krewes are holding back dues payments because of the unknown.
With Nyx, you add in the captain's past issues, still some uncertainty/despair over the accident last year, and now this stupid, stupid, insanely stupid lack of leadership shown by a post on krewe-sponsored social media.
You have to remember, Nyx isn't some krewe that involves a slow growth of close friends. It was formed because some women were tired of waiting for a spot in Muses, and they have accepted pretty much everyone that will pay (although recently they are starting to limit their numbers a bit).
There's also not a lot of krewe loyalty like you see in other, more established krewes. It's basically a bunch of floats. In most places, you are always closer to the people on your float than the rest of the krewe, but it's even more pronounced in Nyx... Nyx really is a collection of floats.
That model has allowed for tremendous growth, but it also resulted in a pretty weak organization and a very strong captain (even by MG standards). The float lt's and the float riders don't have any real loyalty to the krewe or the captain.

Yes, they run on Wed night before Nyx.
What I was saying is with the city not giving out new parade permits, I wouldn't be surprised if there's no new krewe that takes Nyx's spot. Without Nyx following Druids on Wed, I don't think the city would leave Druids to run by itself on Wed so possibly push them to a different night to cut back on the overtime and work NOPD has to do to close off and secure the parade route

Honestly the head of Nyx has been very sketchy for years. It’s surprising this is where they drew the line given her past transgressions but I guess the meeting they had may have gone worse than expected

I usually ride in Thoth. I decided to sit out next year. I'm really worried all of Mardi Gras will be a giant cluster fck next year and I'm pretty sure we are going to just leave town.
