Someone has to fix the problem. Sure, I hammer Louisiana here and it’s honestly probably a bit more than I should. I don’t hate this state or the people, I hate what years of corrupt leadership and religion has done to it. We are so far behind the rest of the country in many categories. But I’m not going to be one of the college educated that leave the state that I contstantly bitch about. We’re going to stay here and sink or swim with it. I don’t think a lot of people in the NO or BR areas realize just how bad rural Louisiana is. Litter, dead dogs, meth, and F-250s being sold on Craigslist.

For the most part, middle class and up move to rural areas to get away from the crime, drugs, and garbage. The only problem they have then is shooting the potential criminals that come from cities to try to rob them.

Coming out of the military I applied for jobs in Baton Rouge and San Antonio. A great job in San Antonio popped first, and the rest is history. I would move to South Lake Charles.

From the article regarding Monroe:

"In mid-2017, Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo argued that youth intervention and gun-buyback programs aimed at preventing crimes were a preferable tactic to addressing violence in the metro area than increased policing and arrests. What impact the mayor’s approach will have remains to be seen."

Looks like the crime is only going to increase.
