A 22-year-old shouldn’t be teaching 17-year-olds, for example.
Why not?

Because they're practically the same age. The line between student and faculty member will naturally get blurred.

What about the thousands of recent college graduates teaching today who don't let that happen?

Not if you dont let it. I was about 24 when I started teaching seniors and I managed just fine. So do majority of young teachers. That said, you do get those that come in with the I'm cool and your friend mentality. They usually dont last long.
To me this is the equivalent of saying men and women shouldn't work together since the lines will naturally get blurred.
People are going to do what they want to. These people were likely to engage in this type of behavior regardless, it's just that being a teacher or a priest makes it easier..

Tamir Rice was 12, and at 5’7” and 195, scared a cop so bad that the cop shot him dead two seconds after the cop rolled up on Tamir with his toy pistol.
It was an airsoft gun, they are banned at schools btw, with the plastic tip taken off to look like a real gun. Not the same.
But hey, go pointing guns at other people with guns and see what happens.

Husband better divorce her before he has to pay the civil trial award against her
Doesn’t matter, had a friend in MS whose wife did the same thing at the school his kids attended , first thing he did was move to a different town and file for divorce , fast forward a couple of years while she’s in prison the victims family sued him after suing the school.

Horny little 12 year old me would have been all over that. She's no beauty queen but hey..

Two years ago she's marching for National Pussy Hat Day - today, she's raping little kids.
Burn her!
Burn her!

It's all fun and games until it happens to your child. And before you say "I'd high five him", what would you do if said encounter gave your 12 year old HIV?

If these allegations are true, and you’re him....how the hell could you ever show your face again in public anywhere within a 2 hour radius knowing everyone knows your woman cheated on you and fricked some 12 year old boy??
This may sound overboard, but I would move across the country.
Why? Do you not see the gold mine of sympathy poon this guy is going to get? I bet his FB is already overflowing with "I'm here for you" posts.

To be clear, I'm not necessarily talking about sexual relationships. I think it's a natural tendency to be "best buds" with people close in age.
That said, I know it's not a popular opinion.

She waits one more year and it's ok

If that's the case, then it's fine. But yes, I'm mostly talking about the teachers who want to be "best buds" with their students. I know that the vast majority would never engage in a sexual relationship with them.
