I guess it was the front shot with all that chrome, then the tailgate shot with all that chrome, and it was a little overwhelming at first. Like I said, after seeing the other packages, I think I could like it.

the tailgate isn't really what i'd call chrome, even though i don't like it
its more of a brushed aluminum finish
if i ever bought a platinum, it'd be a silver one to subdue the tailgate design

Not sure who made you the foremost expert on Ram's but I've owned 2 since 2004 and my brother also has one. I can say with 100% more certainty than you that they are not "shite".
Mine is 5 years now, seems like might have an electrical issue coming up. Rear sliding window has stalled a couple times. Nothing permanent. Also my switch lights flicker every once in a while when I use another electrical switch.
No serious issues though.
The ride is pretty terrible though, never minded until now that I have a baby. Poor lil dude.

Outside of the cost of the aluminum frame most of the parts are cheaper for Ford. The automakers are like walmart when it comes to pressuring suppliers to dive cost down. The consumer never sees this unfortunately.

well these will be out just in time for me when it's time to trade. I figured I would get a new truck in about a year. My brother Steauxn works for Ford so hopefully it'll be a good discount!
