This board should love Becall...she was a staunch liberal activist

best movie she was in was 'dogville', though not because she was in it ...

2 down 1 to go
quote:
Ed Nelson, a prolific actor who became a familiar face to American television audiences over 40 years, notably as a star of the prime-time soap opera “Peyton Place,” died on Saturday in Greensboro, N.C. He was 85.
quote:
Mr. Nelson’s career began in earnest in the mid-1950s, when he appeared in low-budget films like Roger Corman’s “Attack of the Crab Monsters.” He went on to appear in scores of popular television shows, many of them westerns during the genre’s television heyday, among them “Have Gun — Will Travel,” “Bat Masterson,” “Gunsmoke,” “Rawhide” and “The Rifleman.”
His other credits included “The Detectives,” “The Untouchables,” “The Twilight Zone” (in an episode, “Valley of the Shadow,” in which he starred as a reporter who finds himself trapped in a deceptively sleepy town), “The Fugitive,” “The F.B.I.,” “The Rockford Files” and “Quincy, M.E.”
quote:He was also openly conservative in an industry dominated by liberals (which probably didn't help his career). He once ran for SAG president but lost to Ed Asner.
Edwin Stafford Nelson was born on Dec. 21, 1928, in New Orleans. He attended Tulane University there but left after two years to study acting in New York City. He returned to New Orleans to work in local television before moving to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. He served in the Navy as a radioman on the light cruiser Dayton.
In 1972 he completed his college degree at Tulane.

someone who was in movies made before 1980. Yes, they exist.

Are you doing that stupid "rule of 3s" shite?
It's funny because it never happens.
Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and Ed McMahon just checked in from the afterlife....
It will be tough to top that one. McMahon died on 6/23/09, and Fawcett and Jackson both went 2 days later

She assumed room temperature about 5 years ago.
I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you meant Betty White.

Easily the saddest high profile death of the recent past.

Do I need to list all the big celebrities who died without 2 others following?

It's sad that also came into my head when I heard the news. It's also very eerie how often that actually happens.
It never happens. If you look at each year you'll see many celebrities who die. What's the time frame on a cluster of deaths? Only dipshits actually believe they die in threes.
Posted on 8/12/14 at 11:16 pm to RedRifle
Wasn't James Garner first? That would make Lauren Bacall #3.

No, you don't...it is occurs frequently.
However, here were your exact words...

And I gave the Jackson/Fawcett/McMahon situation as a counterexample.

It happens all the time Jake. You're just not very observant.

Both Williams and Bacall died indoors, fwiw.
