NEW ORLEANS — Authorities say two people are dead and six others are hurt in separate shootings in New Orleans Sunday night.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, the first shooting was reported just before 10 p.m. Sunday in 3800 block of Washington Avenue in Central City.

Officers arriving at the scene found two men and two women who were shot. All four victims were taken to the hospital where one man later died. A third man later arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound.
