Coughing is usually fine and they get over it quickly. It is the stomach virus where they're blowing it out of both ends that end up costing you a vacation.

Whatever you do, don't get on a plane if you are flying. Wife and I had to fly to DC a couple of weeks ago, and had someone seated behind us hacking away on the flights to and from. Both of us have been sick ever since. Have some consideration for others.

Tell your kids to hit the slag weights for about 4 hours every day while you're on vacation. They can sweat it out.
