What actually IS crazy is that somehow "they were outcasts" became the official story. All this "trench coat mafia" stuff... there actually was a group that worse trench coats, but they were different people entirely.

Eric Harris played HS sports, had a legit hot girlfriend, and was decently popular.

Klebold was way more of a nerd and not popular, but Harris was the leader of the two. It was his idea.

that was such a sad, messed up, unnecessary tragedy

FALSE. most kids can roll with the punches, so to speak, but dopeheads are a different breed. it's no coincidence this happened on 4/20. it's well-documented that hardcore drugs and violence are intrinsically linked.

It wasn't related to bullying. Somehow that became what the media told people, but it wasn't true.

Eric Harris was upper middle class, pretty popular, an athlete, and dated a hottie. In his own writings he said he wanted to come to embody Nietzsche's concept of the Übermensch and transcend normal humanity by killing at will. HE was the ultimate bully.

Didn't they do it on 4/20 to correspond with Hitler's bday? I could be completely wrong.

Also, earlier today I read that they were trying to emulate what the Norway Killer did when he killed 77 in a shooting rampage

The Norway guy came long after them.

Whoever wrote that was either joking or had their facts totally backwards. The guy in Norway carried out his attack on a few years ago, long after Columbine.

Wasn't it supposed to be them trying to emulate some video game? Doom, maybe?

This is what I got it confused with

Crazy thing is....there was no drugs in their system at the autopsy. They had a bunch of friends. Just had dates to prom. They weren't total outcasts. It's just crazy.

There's still a lot of confusion about the the whole thing. A bunch of a narratives that still float around to this day. You have the Dave Cullen narrative that many people who have really looked into Columbine admit has some inaccuracies.

There's the two goth losers, revenge on school narrative. And there's the Harris ringleader, Klebold depressed follower story.

In my opinion, it was just the perfect storm. You had one kid who thought he was an alpha and overly narcissistic that wanted to play God. And then you had a depressive who drew hearts in his journal and talked about love and just wanted to die because he hated life.

But the Harris-leader Klebold-follower story isn't necessarily the truth. It was Klebold who actually talked about going on a shooting spree first a whole year and several months before. He actually wanted to do it with a female companion. And then it was Harris who is shown on the homemade tapes they made crying because he didn't get to visit old friends and admit that he wish he was a sociopath so he wouldn't have any remorse.

The whole thing is just all over the place, and there are tons of questions that will never be answered.

Doom video game?

I'm thinking the same thing. Seems like I remember something about them "acting out" that game which at that time was one of the top video games.
