Probably thousands in the state have it already. The average person doesn’t go to the doctor for a cold.

Correct and that is with a virus that has been subjected to decades of concentrated scientific research and currently has an active vaccine.
Covid-19 has none of that. So this is like a bad flu season without the presence of the flu vaccine.
Again, maybe it won’t be as bad as many fear, but to do nothing would be a bad move. If you care about anyone that is over the age of 65 and/or has past history of respiratory issues, you’re going to want this thing slowed down.
I’m not freaking out and hoarding TP but my parents are early 70s and both have medical issues that make them especially vulnerable to this virus — so I’m deeply concerned. Hopeful, but deeply concerned.

We know Texas has that, but they don't have that and Mardi Gras on the scale that New Orleans does, so that was the point. The combo is not ideal in regards to not spreading a virus in a concentrated area.

At this point it's probably everywhere. I'm sure it's been spreading in the US for well over a month. It's just that when it gets news coverage and a random schmo who thought he only had a cold thought he'd get tested for the virus; only then will it turn up positive.
I have zero doubt there are thousands of people in Louisiana with it that simply haven't gotten tested.

According to doctors and scientist on the television this morning Unless you’re over the age of 70, under 5, or have some type of auto immune disease that makes you vulnerable because of a compromised immune system then you may get it but it shouldn’t be fatal.
I mean West Nile was supposed to be the next epidemic and it ended up not nearly as bad as the media made it out to be. Social media is making it worse than it is. 20 years ago most of the country wouldn’t know about Covid-19.
