i've never seen anyone make the distinction that "seafood" is specifically a salt water animal.

when you eat seafood gumbo, can have shrimp, crab, crawfish, etc...all mixes of salt and fresh water. it's not called "seafood and fresh water gumbo".

Fried catfish is always listed under the Seafood section of the menu.

the rule is, once seafood enters a dish it becomes a seafood dish.

linky, if i make fish couvillion using freshwater gasper goo filets, i don't call it seafood couvillion...k
