Baby Jesus in the 1200/1300 was often painted wearing pink.
In the 1700-eArly 20th pink was used on boys. Red was a mans color, pink is a shade of red.
Men wore pink suits in the 19th. Fitzgerald has Gatsby in pink. And that makes him not an Oxford man. Pink was a blue collar color.
It is kind of funny how little most people know about gender and color and clothing.
