Basin Bridge is too far from Grosse Tete to be a factor. Unless there is a wreck on the bridge. Nothing you'd want to see anyway.
Delay is shorter now. Little past LA415. Standard shite for this place.

Still waiting on you to post a pic of the check for all that extra money you send to the state.
You think you've got me pegged, don't you. I don't send any more to the state that anyone else in my tax bracket. But my tax dollars don't go where I want them to go. They go to welfare programs, food stamps, corrupt council on aging organizations, state employee cars, and worthless, redundant 4 year colleges in parts of the state that don't need them. They build drainage ditches and gymnasiums in shitty districts for shitty piss-ant politicians. They give millions in tax credits to shitty industries like moviemaking, and get nothing in return.
I want my tax dollars to go to roads, bridges, police and fire, and Louisiana State University. Everything else can suck a dick.
I support a gas tax because there will simply never be enough money found in the budget, including savings created by cutting spending elsewhere, to pay for the billions of dollars in infrastructure needs that this state has. If you're okay with the status quo, enjoy your afternoon on I-10.

I know we all joke about a loop and the issues with it, but what exactly is holding back a multiple lane east expansion after the MRB?

Traffic is moving pretty well here in Houston
said no one ever
i hear it all the time
yes , we have traffic we also have a shite ton of people
all things considered the traffic moves quite well
esp if you use easy tag on toll roads and contra flow
Yeah I actually don't even mind the houston traffic so much. It's a giant city with multiple loops. It tries. BR is a small city that takes pride in it's mind numbing traffic.

Father now resides in Zachary, moved from River Ridge after mother died. The new bridge is a delight to cross. Avoid Baton Rouge proper, traffic, and the New Orleans area altogether....fortunate me

I despise the status quo, but I don't believe giving ( well having it confiscated) more of my money to this state will fix anything. It will just allow for more of the waste you describe above.
Oh and I doubt a gas tax is going to fund an expansion of I10 or facilitate a new MRB in BR.
And if you think 10 sucks try 190 from BR to 49 or 90 south from Laffayette. shite show doesn't come close to describing those thoroughfares.

But you see, you have to try to do SOMETHING. Saying "I don't trust the legislature," while 100% reasonable, doesn't get roads built. I trust Republicans with my money more than Democrats, and I think this legislature and the next governor (a Republican) could be trusted to administer the trust fund fairly and efficiently. But as long as people are so dead set against any tax whatsoever, we will never know what is possible.

Right but the 15k people that it benefits there could have been several million drivers per year.
