5RM should be close to 85% of your 1RM. 3RM closer to 90% of 1RM

I trust your opinion but im 6'3" and my arms are long even for my height. Should i still be going all the way down? I feel like its puts some unneeded stress on my shoulder

I'm not a gym guy and I could throw up 215 5 times. You need to evaluate what you're doing in your 5-6 hours a week as opposed to finding out what your theoretical max is.

I agree with this as a general statement although I think a lot depends on body mass and weight.

I'm 6'3" too, with a wingspan thats a tad bigger than 6'5". Made me a great swimmer, poor at bench.

Still can get into the 360 range regularly.

Yes. But shoulder mobility is a big problem. with longer arms you really need to make sure your scapular retraction is done and done right.

Edited, almost 50 athletes at the NFL combine benched 225 15 times or less. There are also a lot of NBA players under six four who can't get up 225 10-15 times.

225 for reps is strong unless you are over 200 lbs.

Of course it does. If you weigh 175 and are lifting 225 for reps then you are either very naturally gifted or are not a novice lifter.

If you weigh 225 you can GTFO with judging a skinny guys bench numbers.

Thats more than half the wide receivers and DBs at the NFL combine and probably half of the NBA players under six four!

yea was always a goal of mine for pretty much that exact reason. just reaching now, but haven't been working out that long

I'm 5'10 178 and can do 225x7. I really want to get it to 10 though just to stroke my ego

I think they are fairly accurate. Did a 10r back squat the other day, had no idea what to shoot for, I put in my 3rm and got a number that was pretty spot on. I may could have handled a few pounds more, but that 8-10th rep were just right.

im 6'3" 200. I feel like i could have gotten to this point much sooner if i had a workout partner. Workout at gym in my apartment complex and could never go to failure for fear i would end up with weights on my chest with no one around. Been getting my GF to do it lately but thats a joke

yea i just wanted to get to point where my first set after warm-ups was 225X10. Guess my next goal is 315 1RM. Probably shouldn't even try but 3 plates is big boy weights

I max out all the time. 285 a little over a week ago.

I bet those who ask..
