I encourage college grads to move back for at least a year if they can

What if their parents insisted on not taking their money? You don't know everyone's situation, so I really don't see the need for you to make such broad generalizations. There is nothing wrong with saving money in any way possible. Especially ways that almost certainly have no effect on your life. Are you jealous?

I moved back home for right under 6 months and almost pulled my hair out. Don't get me wrong, I have awesome parents, but once you get in the habits of living on your own, it's tough to go back to being under that roof.

I did, a lot of guys I went to high school with still lived in my hometown so it was a fun year. I had a job though.
