Why not just take it back and say it doesn't work. They didn't know the difference in the range finder the first time so I highly doubt they have evolved enough to take a harder look when they take it back.

So return it. Walmart will refund a half eaten loaf of bread if you throw a big enough fit. But first try explaining your situation calmly and politely. 9/10 they will take it back.

I bought a tent for jamboree in the hills for cheap from walmart. It was used. I used it all weekend and returned used more.

Somewhat similar except I was smarter. Went to Home Depot for $59 blade attachment for echo weedeater. Two boxes in stock, both had been opened and taped shut. I opened both and neither had the blade in them. These people handling returns are obvious dumb fricks.

Was able to return it. I wanted to do so ASAP to make sure the lady who checked me out was still there. She verified my story and they took it back.
