I stand corrected, it was yet another fumble against Seattle...What does Jhari Evans being a Pro Bowler have to do with Sack Strief?!?

Stats are hard and if Zach Strief graded out so well as a RT all these years, why hasn't he been at least a Pro Bowl alternate, much less a starter??? 10 years in the league not even as much as a Pro Bowl sniff!Lol

Neither has Colston, so what does that say about Colston, or the Pro Bowl voters.

I don't sit in the 600s cause I'm not poor, have terrible tattoos, or live in Kenner.

Pro bowl is meaningless: see colston and jahri last year

quote:

When Strief became an unrestricted free agent on March 11, the Saints could hardly have found themselves with a more pressing need. On an offensive line that featured two guards (Ben Grubbs and Jahri Evans) who were selected to January’s Pro Bowl, Strief had arguably been its best performer in 2013.

He had surrendered just three sacks and four quarterback hits. He had just two holding penalties — the fewest among the Saints who began the season as starting offensive linemen — and one false start. In his second season as an offensive captain for the Saints, he earned the seventh highest rating among tackles in the NFL from Pro Football Focus.

So being selected to play in the Pro Bowl by your peers is a bunch of BS??Cmon Man! Maybe if you got out of Sack Striefs arse, he could move a lil quicker so he could slow down any of the many defenders that cause him to shite all over the field.

"Currently, players are voted into the Pro Bowl by the coaches, the players themselves, and the fans. Each group's ballots count for one third of the votes"

There's two groups that get selected that don't deserve it.
1. Players who are perennial "stars" get voted in regardless of how shitty their play is. i.e. Fitzgerald when he had statistically a worse season than 5-6 other WRs.

2. Players who are lineman that became "elite" and get voted in repeatedly year in and year out regardless of their play that year. i.e. Evans when he was one of the worst graded lineman in the league

He's been graded as one of the top 5 RTs the last 3-4 years. He always has that one shitastic game, but so do a lot of top tier tackles, right or left. You guys just carry that mentality from a bad game to the rest of the season.

Your right, thanks for supporting my argument that Zach Strief has never been an "elite" player.I never said he was the worst RT in the league. He gives up the "big sack" and has in numerous games throughout his "career".

he's always been good for that one game where he's just entirely overwhelmed for whatever reason and gives up absurd numbers of pressure/sacks.

He's always graded as one of the best tackles in the league year in and year out. Issue is he's a right tackle and tackles voted in are left tackles because they're well known.

Look at last year's pro bowl:
1. Joe Staley - SF LT
2. Joe Thomas - Cle LT
3. Tyron Smith - Dal LT
4. Duane Brown - Hou LT
5. Ryan Clady - Den LT
6. Trent Williams - Was LT

Here's 2013's
1. Trent Williams - Was LT
2. Duane Brown - Hou LT
3. Branden Albert - Mia LT
4. Jordan Gross - Car LT
5. Joe Thomas - Cle LT
6. Tyron Smith - Dal LT

Here's 2012's
1. Joe Thomas
2. Duane Brown
3. Ryan Clady
4. Andrew Whitworth
5. Joe Staley
6. Russell Okung
7. Trent Williams
8. Jermon Bushrod
9. Matt Kalil

Let me know of a RT that plays better than him and is more consistent for 4mil/yr or less. Btw that 4mil is 13th highest in the league.

Bulaga? 6.75mil
Gilbert? 6.163mil
Smith? 6.0mil
Free? 5.0mil
Johnson? 4.963mil
Vollmer? 4.1875mil

Hate to be that guy, but you've used your instead of you're a few times now. Christ.

And no one said he was elite. He's a very good RT that isn't very expensive and consistently one of the better RTs in the league

Now Armstead has the potential to be elite

O. Why are you spanking me ? All I did was offer up the link and ask the question if he'd seen his better days. He has been a consistent and serviceable O.T., but he was manhandled for much of the game and I think it's a fair question. I don't particularly agree with
NOLATRUTH he is just yanking everybody's chain.

Remember when his main responsibility was reporting as an eligible receiver? He was excellent at it.

Yeah, remember when they actually threw to him and he dropped a perfect touchdown pass in his hands...

I firmly believe Verizon paid Zach to let Tampa Bay through to take out Brees and have McCown put in. I will be canceling my Verizon services when we lose tomorrow.

Yeah every saints fan knows of that epic fail but catching passes was not my point. Having him next to the rt worked well for us.
