It is obvious to me that Winston has difficulty reading defenses. He is effective when we go up-tempo and limit substitution and different looks by the defense. I also hear very little from him in terms of communication on the line in terms of audibles, etc. If these things are true, then we have to play up-tempo all the time or make a change at quarterback. Sean Payton was a great coach, but he was never able to get us a successor for Brees.

I’ve been saying this exact thing all year. But I have seen more hot routes lately and I did see him call an actual audible(play clock ran out though)

The lack of blitz pick ups is baffling. I don’t know if he’s not sliding protection or if our line is confused. There are some blitzes where you see 2 guys come untouched when we have 6 people in protection. That has to be a massive priority to get straightened out or teams are just going to dial up blitzes in every single passing down.
