...take the ball first or defer and have possession to start the 2nd half?

Let's go score first. Put the pressure on them.

We defer like every team in the NFL does. Crowd is always hyped making the most noise on opening drive on D also.

I get that. But playing aggressive and getting a lead early is Paytons MO and would make it very hard for the Iggles to come back whereas we have watched all season as teams (even with back up or rookie QBs) have gone straight down the field and scored on their opening drives. I can see Coach SP doing something different tomorrow

Romo made a good point one time during a broadcast last year that the opening drive of the second half is the easiest drive for opposing teams because a lot of the crowd is still shuffling around and hasn’t made it back to their seats yet. It’s easier to hear. I had never really thought about that.

Wow this kind of changed my opinion. It's a great point. So maybe only defer on the road if you have a great home crowd.

We defer and execute Ambush II.
We steal a possession on the onside kick driving it down their throats and scoring.
They are forced to onside kick to start the second half.
We recover and score.
Game over.
