as many "no names" as drew made famous, just how important is it for us to throw a checkbook at a wide out? hell......they all run a sub 4.6 and all have great hands. even a got damn practice squad receiver has a 50/50 chance of making the pro bowl if drew is his q.b. and sean is his coach.

I think the better question is "how important is it for us to throw a checkbook at a wideout with a rookie under center?" Young QBs need a Calvin Johnson, A.J. Green, or Michael Thomas to throw to in a pinch.

If you think Michael Thomas and Adrian Arrington are on equal footing than i dont know what to tell you.

The other WRs we have had games that showed flashes of what they could be but no one can do what thomas does on a regular basis. There were a few games where it was clear we were fricked without him.

I mean i get it that some people think 20 million is too much to pay but stop saying that Brees can make guys like Thomas. He's alot better than what we've ever had.

Do you remember when this exact thread was started about Jimmy Graham?

maybe for guys like tre'quan, but its obviously clear that guys like michael thomas and brandin cooks are definitely legit WRs.

its troubling that there is no clear #2 after MT

we just have a bunch of young unimpressive receivers on this team and not a single one stands out above any others

i guess its another year of MT being 80% of the passing offence for the whole season and no one else can get open

if we are lucky, and it sounds like that might be the case, at least i think we have a really good TE now to take some pressure off of MT

Kamara gets a ton of catches. Latavious Murray will get a few. Cooks will get a ton of targets at tight end. Payton says Cameron Meredith is finally healthy so a training camp should be good for him. Gunn is getting old but if he keeps most of his speed to take the top off the defense. Look. The. frick. Out.

Butler is looking good so far and may have a shot if he has the football smarts as well. Watched his highlites and is a big strong kid who catches in traffic and uses his hands well.

You realize this is 40 year old Brees and not 32 year old Brees, right? His days of making no name WRs great are gone. Brother needs help and there’s no doubt, at his current pace, MT13 is a hall of fame WR

God damn we have an idiotic fan base sometimes

I honestly still think brees and the system can make nobodies (hey kirkwood) into somebody. But brees doesn't make guys elite alone.
