Sean Payton isn’t paying Taysom a nickel.

He signed a 4 year contract that only has 22.5 guaranteed. The rest of the numbers are incentive based / position played that he wont reach so it dont matter. Its was to save us soms cap space. So basically its really a 4 year 22.5 million dollar contract averaging 5.6 million a year which isnt bad at all.

You say only but that's a lot for a 4-5 touch per game guy.

Sounds like a lot of bullshite to me.

I love Taysom and his passion

But he’s about as close to being a starting NFL QB as I am.

He’s not even a second string NFL QB

Or The QB whisperer and offensive genius

Would not have been starting Simien before him

He suffered a potential career ending concussion from an opponent that showed intent to injure him.

The NFL chose not to fine that Washington player.

If Taysom decided to retire from the injury with a concussion injury settlement, it would have looked bad for the NFL safety helmet campaign and concussion safety program.

The parties may have agreed to the 22.5 million dollar guaranteed money as a hedge against a future career ending concussion.

It's like an insurance policy for Taysom to continue to play football knowing he is at a higher risk for a follow up career ending concussion.

The Saints pay a little bit more now for him to continue to play or he retired from the last concussion for somewhat less money as a concussion injury settlement.

11 touches for 101 yards is pretty valuable

Not if it's accompanied by 4 INTs

I respect you and your opinions Mr. who

Why is he even playing at all at this point

It’s not his first concussion

I would have more respect for Sean Payton

If he paid him the outrageous money he is paying him now

And let him sit on the bench for the rest of his contract

Why didn't the NFL do anything to the Washington player ? I don't remember this event.

Memory holed and replaced by his foot injury.

His concussion was just as devastating as the Winston injury to the Saints.

He really hasn't been fully available all season.

It was a football hit that wasn't intentional. That's why he wasn't fined. Cry some more.

No ball in the picture and straight up hit on a defenseless player.

It was penalized during the game but not fined.

Some backup QBs make that and they usually get ZERO touches a game.

It was fineable but the idea espoused in the other thread that the Saints had to give him 22.5 million as a preemptive injury settlement, even though he's still playing, is fricking retarded.

I don’t remember either

And I’m sure Taysom Hill doesn’t remember either

So why is Sean Payton grossly overpaying Taysom Hill?

We can also ask why we’re grossly overpaying 3.6 ypc Kamara

But you won’t.

Usually the ones who are good enough to separate themselves from Trevor Siemian
