some of Brees errant throws

thats just dumb, the dumbest statement i've ever seen. nothing more to say than thats dumb.

Not really. Brees threw 1 touchdown in the first four games. I love Brees just as much as the next fan, but he wasn't very sharp early last season. It isn't all Devery's fault. (A little bit, but not completely) And if that is the dumbest thing that you have seen, you should read these message boards more often.

except that one thing that makes or breaks you in this league, reliable hands.

dude had 750 yds and 5 or 6 touchdowns in 2006 starting only 7 games

fellows we all love the lsu alums that go on to prosper in the NFL. but leave the rantardness on the rant. devery sucks, lance moore sucks, skylar sucks. all of them need to be cut. i hope we can get d byrd in a few years because he will be a reliable deep threat.

I rarely visit the Rant. Love the Tigers, but not blind to the fact that sometimes they don't workout. DByrd hasn't proven shite in the NFL. Who is to say he won't flame out after he leaves the mighty Fighten Tigers. You want to cut all the Tigers only to wait a few years to draft a Tiger?

d byrd has tenX more reliable hands than devery EVER had. the only reason devery got drafted was speed and the blue grass miracle. he sucks! brees threw ints because he was being hurried by opposing d lines. our o line sucks. didnt say it was all deverys fault, just saying he sucks we need to cut him and move on. one decent year out of 4 doesnt mean he deserves a roster spot.

DByrd is also bound by the rules of the NCAA and NFL not to play in the NFL right now. So, there's that.

Why are we comparing Devery to Byrd, again?

This is why there is the Henderson / Byrd comparison.

20 months ago: New Orleans Saints wide receiver Devery Henderson (19) pulls in a pass in the third quarter as Dallas Cowboys safety Keith Davis (29) defends in an NFL football game in Irving, Texas, Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006. Henderson was able to score on the play. New Orleans won 42-17

he'll haul those in all day. It's those beautiful passes that hit him in the numbers that it looks like he tries to catch them with 2 balled fists!!!!

I'm no super football analyst, but I've noticed that everytime Devery drops a ball he lets the ball get to his pads.

The good, consistent receivers...Jerry Rice, Reggie Wayne, Chad Johnson, Randy Moss, Colston...they all attack the ball with their hands and catch those strikes in front of their bodies. Devery never really did that on the easy passes he's dropped, which are far too many.

Dude is too good to give up on. If he fails us again this year, then yes. Send him out the door. But I hope he makes the team.

i agree. I think he's worth having just to be a downfield threat. Keeping him on the roster really isn't going to bump anyone else that is WAYYY better than he is.

What pisses me off is he will make the hard catches on the sideline with just his toes in bounds or in the back of the endzone the same way. But when he has a defender on him in the middle of the field he fricking drops it. Maybe we should have him wear ear plugs so he dont hear the footsteps.

:I agree with this:

Who would you truly rank ahead of him?

1. Colston
2. Meachem
3. Patten

That's it for me. And I don't think Patten will be here for much longer. Arrington is great from everything I hear, but he may also be hurt this year (dreaded turf toe). Lance Moore is not tall or particularly fast. Terrance Copper is great on special teams, but I haven't seen enough to really judge him.

its not that at all. its like he's going backwards or something....... the dude has the worst hands in the NFL and is only getting worse as far as drops are concerned.
