I feel like if they wanted they could have added a year to his contract to spread the money out. I have a bad feeling this coming year may be his last

-He's 40...going to be 41 next January.
-Last year of his contract.
-Restructuring this year to attain more pieces
-At the end of this year, he had buzz phrases that stood out to me such as "I'm not getting any younger." etc. etc.

Yep, one more crack at another Lombardi before hanging it up.

They added a fake year to his deal to extend to 2021. They 10.8 is being spread equally to 2020 and 2021. Its even updated on OTC.

Ive been wanting them to do this all along.

We can sign Tate and Cook at 9 and 14 million cap numbers.

It depends on his performance and the success of the team. If Drew is holding up the Lombardi next February and he asks Who Dat Nation if we should go for ring #3 next year, you bet your sweet arse we'll sign him for another year.

Zach Brown could be a great replacement for KJ.

THis is all contingent on NOT keeping Teddy.

If we keep Teddy. A LB is off the table.

The fact Teddy is open to sticking around leads me to believe it is his last year.

No doubt it is. As it should be. It’s time.

On the monday before the NFCCG, Zach Strief said at the Quarterback's Club lunch that Brees would've retired last year had we won the SB. If we didn't he would be back for one more year

It seems Teddy only has 2 options on the table. Backing up Brees is one. Going to Miami to maybe start until the rookie they will draft is ready (just like what happened at the Jets). That's it for him as far as what's being reported. And it seems the money isn't a big difference between the two. I would choose backing up Brees for another year.

It may end up being Brees' last year. But I'm pretty sure Brees doesn't know if it's his last year yet.

Here's Tosh's thoughts on Brett Favre retiring.

Speaking of quarterbacks. Brett Favre. I love that everybody gave him so much grief to retire, are you kidding me?

Brett Favre should retire. Are you out of your mind, he makes $12million a year to play a game. “Yea im gonna keep playing.” “Hey Brett the world thinks you should retire” “you said 12 million right? Yea, they can go frick themselves.”

I would never quit are you kidding me? What about 4 years he’s not good enough to be a starter but he can be a backup you know what that pays? About 4-5 million “oh, yep I’m gonna do that.” How bout 10 years not - good enough to be a backup but he can be on the practice squad. You know what that pays? About 850, 000 “uh yep i'm gonna do that as well.”

Play forever. It’d make the game more enjoyable. If people weren’t allowed to retire? Athletes don’t wanna quit either…see some 70 year old return a punt, he gets hit he explodes and dies on the field with some honor.
