It’s not like George Rogers was a bad choice. Unfortunately he really liked cocaine and needed out of NOLA.

LT had an affinity for that commodity also if I recall correctly. But Jackson and LT on edge with Mills and Johnson in the middle??. Not sure we had the offensive mindset in those days to mean a playoff win with LT added but he and Jackson would have maybe neutralized the O advantage on the other side to a higher level to make it a wash. Then Morten makes the difference. All speculation but woulda been nice to see how going LT vs Rogers in 81 woulda played out.

Pat Swilling was a great pass rusher. I remember he had 16 sacks one year. But, Rickey had that dog in him that Swilling didn't have. LT on the other side of Rickey Jackson would have been ridiculous.

Rickey rushed the passer, stuffed the run, set the edge, blocked two guys on the kicking team, and held the record for recorded fumbles when he retired.
