Name one player on our defense who has been more productive than Roman Harper? You can't, and it's not even close.

I have been very, very hard on Roman Harper in the past on this board. But I have to eat crow this year. Malcolm Jenkins has played far, far worse this season.

yep. Jenkins played well in 2010, and now a lot of people just assume him as a solid player on our D...Harper has been much better.

Having a good season, and like i said, at leas he does at least one thing well. Not everyone on our D can say that.

To be fair, it's not like he made an athletic play on it. The ball was overthrown and fell right into his hands.

Harper is helpful in the run game and an EXTREME liability in defending the pass.

Apparently the staff is ok with that. Personally I'd rather have a safety that is better in coverage and not as good in run support, especially considering the insane lack of pressure we get with our defensive line.

That's like being the tallest midget.

No argument from me there. It's not a good thing that roman Harper is our best defensive player, but he is and it ain't close.

Perhaps if he wasn't surrounded by the equivalent of a mid-tier, 2nd-string, Pac-10 squad, some of his critics might have a better appreciation. Though, I doubt it.

Is he really though? If your sorta good at one thing, but exceptionally bad at another (that you SHOULD be good at), can you be the best?

Either way, if your statement is true, Brees is going to earn every penny of his new contract keeping us in games with his arm.

Loftin, by a milestone, dudes a animal. He doesnt make all the tackles he should, but he makes a majorty of them on the line of scrimmage. 59 tackles in the first 6 games... #nextjerseyimbuying

Greer and Lofton have been solid. And Gallett has done well when in. Smith has been ok, I'd put him and Harper on the same level. Everyone else has been "ehhh".

Cam had two batted passed, a hit on Freeman to force an incompletion, and a sack/fumble.

If I had to name the three best players on defense right now, I'd go with Lofton, Harper and Jordan. Everyone else has been either comically bad or just plain invisible.
