Absolute God awful safety and has been the last 2 seasons or so. No coverage awareness and lacks speed.

Severely over paid because of a fluke pro bowl season in which he wasn't all that great, to be honest.

Don't know any knowledgeable saints fan who still want him around. Anyone think he comes back next year?

Should have a game changing pick and would have been two games in a row.

He caught that ball yesterday. The ball never touched the ground. It was a bad call. He made a game changing interception last week. Please take your arse somewhere else.

I'm kinda sick of all the Harper hate...

He's a better all around safety than most in the NFL.

I thought that besides a couple plays here and there, that he is playing a lot better this season.

This. How people choose to single him out as the lone cause of this defense is a little ridiculous. There is plenty of blame to go around on this defense and it's not just Harper's fault. We need better play on the line, from the linebackers, the cornerbacks, and the safeties. Pretty much from the whole defense.

89+ tackles in each of the past 5 seasons...43 so far this season, 5 PDef, and should have 2 INTs.

...played in 15 games in 2 of those seasons, 16 in the rest.

I was not a Roman Harper fan under Williams. Harper has had a resurgence under Spags. I think that he will continue to improve as he fully learns the defense.

Everybody knows he's not great but you'd think it was Deion Sanders, Charles Woodson, Ronnie Lott, and Roman back there with all the blame he gets.

As bad as he is, Im not sure if anyone behind him would do any better. We need to get rid of him this offseason for sure

THIS!
He is always around the ball. That catch he made yesterday was going to be a touchdown and the referee stop the play before giving the chance to compete his play. Everyone saw that that catch was clean and the referee refused to give it to him from the start.

He intercepted the ball in the game before the bye and still you gripe...

Harper plays his arse off and just because he doesn't get every tackle on every play you guys always gripe... Try taking some of the blame off of him and start putting the blame on our weak arse D-Line.

Serious question: Who is better and has been available the last two years?

The hate on Harper is way overblown. He's not great in pass coverage. We know this. He is very good in run support. (Although we haven't really been stopping anyone in the run game lately) He's an above average safety in the NFL. He's probably paid more than he's worth, but what is the realistic alternative?

Interception yesterday..

Flexibility to play as a linebacker in our end of game formation.

bullshite illegal touching call on him at the end of the game yesterday (the 1st one, the one on dallas clark was a penalty)
