What the Carr situation reminds me of

2011 Colts went into the offseason with a franchise QB (Manning). By May 2011, news came out that he needed neck surgery and his 2011 season was likely over.
The Colts became the worst team in the league that season. In 2012 they got to pick Andrew Luck #1. Luck was a generational QB and the Colts were t from #1 pick to playoffs.
Obviously, Carr is not a franchise QB and is nowhere near Manning’s greatness. But, he is the difference between a 7-8 win season for the Saints and a likely #1 pick. I hope for a similar outcome to what the Colts had. Generational Qb ( hopefully the story ends with a Manning coming to the Saints: full circle symmetry).
