What does Mickey want our identity to be as a franchise? What do you want it to be?

Under CSP and Drew our identity was pretty clear (and kind of our detriment until we finally fielded a consistent defense at the end of Drew’s prime).

The lions have a clear identity, the ravens and Steelers have clear identities even when not Super Bowl contenders. There are numerous other franchises with success where you can point to what they want to do on offense or defense consistently.

Post CSP/Drew it seems like our identity was to try and replicate that regime in shittier and shittier versions. Now that we are at a crossroads is it simply to hire another Payton guy and trudge on as another version of a CSP era cover band?

This isn’t meant to be a bitch thread. I seriously don’t know what Mickeys ideal team building method is outside of trade up/plug holes/push money forward.

I kind of hope that in the near future we could get a vrabel like guy who will instill a tough minded/physical culture who is also intelligent and savvy with game/time management while we clear the excess from our books. We’d need a few more young running backs with some actual juice and to beef up the trenches more, but that at least seems attainable fairly quickly if we’re smart.

This should get us through the year or two of Carr and hopefully in a good spot fiscally for when we’re ready to move on our franchise qb.
