What are the cap implications of cutting Jamaal Williams?

In the entire NFL, he was dead last in yards per carry (minimum 100 carries). He's got to get released, right?

You're stuck with him another year. What you save it's not worth to June 1 cut.

im glad he got his TD, but he was objectively ineffective this year. we overpaid based on his outlier year in 2022 with ben johnson at the helm.

He was misused in an offense that was a flaming dumpster fire for most of the season. His contract isn't that bad and we needed some insurance while Kamara was suspended.
I'd like to see what a real OC can do for his game because you don't accidently trip and get 17 rushing TDs in a season.

You turn his $4.6M cap hit into a $6.27M cap hit. Plus you deny Loomis the chance to add more void years and extend his contract.
Even as a post 6/01 designated cut, you are only saving $700k

Who wasn't misused in this offense. Trying to make Carr a precision passer, limiting Taysom touches all year, Jimmy was used mor as a blocking TE and rarely saw the field in the redzone.
Williams had 106 rushes this year
44 carries came when we had less than 3 yards for a 1st/end zone
14 carries inside the 10 yard line (does not state where inside the 10)
Williams in 2022:
13 of Williams 17 TDs came when the team was within 3 yards of the endzone

He’s averaged less than 4 ypc in half his nfl seasons including those with Aaron rodgers as his qb. Outside of his outlier season his season high was 600 yards rushing.
He had one year of falling into the end zone a bunch of times because swift was injured and the lions have an elite o line.
We could get his level of production with 9/10 late round picks or udfa.
He wasn’t misused. He’s simply never really been good.
