usually link the broadcast map but it ain't out yet

The NFL on FOX’s second longest-running team features play-by-play announcer Kenny Albert, former Cowboys fullback Daryl Johnston and the NFL’s only on-field analyst, Tony Siragusa. Kenny, “Moose” and “Goose,” who begin their sixth season together Week 1 in New Orleans when Drew Brees and the Saints host rookie phenom Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins.

Also announced that Heath Evans joins FOX as a gameday analyst. He has had one of the best transitions to analyst that I can remember. Have enjoyed his insight on nfln.

I don't share your Heath Evans love, but he is better than a lot of other former players *cough* Sapp *cough*.

he was annoying at first but I've gotten used to him. Daryl Johnston is a good color commentator, he might be the best, besides Mayock.

"It's loud down here. The Saints are moving the ball. Someone just made a tackle, it was a big guy, probably a defensive linemen. Those guys are huge. Oh man. Back to you Moose."

He just never has anything vital to say and is just loud. That's a solid crew, though, minus the Goose.

I know I'm in the minority, but I do really like Buck and Aikmen. I guess because I used to listen to Buck doing St. Louis baseball radio. I don't really get the hate for him, but whatever.

I think the only guy that I can say that I genuinely can't stand on T.V. is Matt Millen. Joe Buck is a spontaneous tool but Millen is just awful.

Uncanny. Whoa.

On a side note, I just realize the Carl Winslow in your sig pic has no mustache. Unacceptable. Sorry about that.

You really wanna make it exciting, let's get Jim Ross as a commentator.

I came across this gem, Imagine this guy doing NFL games.

that is it for me, I think he is great for baseball cuz he is a baseball guy. His football knowledge/insight seems to be quite limited comparatively. He also tends to veer off into too many non-game related tangents and tmz-like topics. Besides that, he just comes across as the definition of smarmy to me.

Also, at times there could be an exciting part of the game and he keeps that monotone going. Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

I don't expect everyone to sound like Gus Johnson doing College Basketball games, but it adds to the experience when you can tell the commentator loves it. That's why I like listening to Gruden on MNF, the guy just loves football.

A Matt Millen gem from the Fiesta Bowl between Stanford and Oklahoma St.

Millen on Andrew Luck: "He bores you with his good decision making as he moves his team down the field."

Really?

Let's leave Millen out of this. I feel it's an insult to crap commentators to include him in the conversation.

I can't help it. Caught a replay of that game not to long ago, the guy was terrible.

The NFL Network originally had him and Joe Theismann in the booth for the Thursday night games. Now they have a good crew with Nessler and Mayock. Nice flip flop.

I will assume that Joe and Troy will cover the 49ers and the Packers. That is definitely a bigger game than Redskins/Saints, no sarcasm.

I think some of you are being to hard on Goose.

Sure there is some
Madden-esque schtick with him, but if you go back to the Arizona-Saints 2009 playoff game that is on Blu-ray DVD and PUT ON THE SUBTITLES, you'll find when you actually pay attention to what he is saying, he was on point each and every time.

It'll also make you realize (if you haven't already) that Moose is hands-down the most insightful & accurate color man in the business. Mayock is great on player history and tools but does not offer the in-game analysis that Moose does.
