Sean’s inability to plan for life post Drew got us here. Injuries haven’t helped this season, but our offense was just as abysmal with Jameis.

Seattle is 3-7, no way Russ stays there. Make it happen Sean.

Why are people so damn dumb! He brought in a talented young experienced QB the year before Drew retired. A first overall pick. A Heisman winner. That was the plan. Can you not see that or are you just up in your feelings spouting stupid crap?

FFS this board is full of morons after a loss.

He was also busted for shoplifting and sexual assault.

Has IQ issues.

But it seems like most on this board are happy with him and think we can win championships with him.

So there’s no need to go after Russell Wilson or anybody else.

We are set at the QB position for many years.

And don’t forget, we have Taysom Hill that can also win championships for us at the QB position.

Hell, we might have the best QB situation in the NFL.

Even if you are a pro Winston guy, which I am not. You have to agree, if we have what is needed to get Wilson and he wants to be here you make that move 10/10 times

What does shoplifting and the other allegations have to do with his ability to play football?

I can name off plenty of great ppl that had similar issues but still played their respective sports at a high level

I didn’t say it did.

It makes him the type of guy that I don’t want to be the face of the Saints organization.

Just my opinion.

Also I think it’s ridiculous to think he and /or Taysom will ever be the franchise type QBs that are needed to get to the SuperBowl again.

Absolutely

He turns this team around immediately and gives the Saints a bright future.

We become SuperBowl contenders again.

Yeah the OP's assertion that CSP didn't do anything about the QB situtation is silly. Winston was what he did about it. That said, even though I'm skeptical that Russ (or Rodgers for that matter) are genuinely looking to get out of Seattle/GB, if they are, you 100% make a play for them. Matt Stafford is the best example of why (and that's a guy I argued, wrongly as it turns out, that we should not pursue).

And with all of THAT said, I still think we can win a lot of games with Winston under center. But that still remains to be seen.

Would love Wilson. At what cost? Who does he throw to? Can't be the same cast of characters.??

If Wilson is coming, you're free to use what will probably ne a high draft pick on a stud WR, and then you hope MT comes back 100%

Russ is gonna cost several picks. Not sure if you trade 2 1st for him at this point. What happens with Williams. Do we re sign. Can we afford to re sign. Then if we don't we have draft his replacement. Saints got a tough off-season because some players might have to hit the door.

Oh I see, yeah I was thinking of him as a free agent, but you're right, that's not the case.

Exactly how many superbowls have the Seahawks won with Wilson? 1

How many superbowls did the bucs win with Brad Johnson? 1

Ravens with difler? 1

I could continue the list but would you screw your salary cap for either of those?

I don’t think most of y’all understand how bad our wide receiver corp is. If we had a legit wr1, 2, 3, and a decent te that can catch our offense would have been significant better when Jameis was playing. Not many QBs are Drew Brees and Tom Bradybwhere they can make wr3s and 4s look like most teams wr1 and 2. Our skill positions on the offense are in a very bad spot the last 4 years.

How can that be with an offensive genius at HC?

And Russell Wilson won 1 SuperBowl and should have won a second one

There are exceptions to every rule, but for the most part, in todays game you better have at the very least a top 10 QB

5th ranked scoring offense in 2020
3rd ranked scoring offense in 2019
3rd ranked scoring offense in 2018
4th ranked scoring offense in 2017

Top 5 offenses with questionable skill players contradicts your stupid, regurgitated bird brain talking points

There are those us who have been saying this day was coming for years now. All time great HoF QBs don’t grow on trees, it was never likely we’d luck out like Green Bay did. Payton did want to get Mahomes a few years back but KC picked him before...he turned out ok.

Winston is probably not the answer, but it was worth a shot for a season where we didn’t have another option. He’s the best QB that’s backed up Brees, couldn’t do much better. A mediocre to poor season was kinda easy to see coming post Brees. Now we’ve seen it, hopefully they go after a Wilson or Rodgers this offseason while the core is still here.

I was very skeptical about bringing in Winston, but he seems to have been maturing both on and off the field.

Russ looks like absolute dog crap right now. Would need to show that he still got it before going after him
