I think we'll bring him back for the final year on his contact

If anything, the last 2 years show you can never have enough good lineman. Between Armstead, Peat, and Ram someone will miss time

5.1mil cap hit, 4.0 saved if you cut him
1.1mil base salary, 1.1mil prorated bonus, 2.8mil roster bonus, 100k workout bonus

I think he'd come back if we converted it and did 2.5mil guaranteed.

WOuld love strief back as a more affordable backup veteran commodity. Not at the full contract current value. STay here and enjoy pre retirement.

Yep. We're going to need a backup RT next year. It would be nice to have him back considering he knows the offense so well. Hopefully he doesn't mind taking less money to be Ramczyk's backup & mentor for 1 more year. Ramczyk has already said that he's learned a ton from Strief.

It's either bring Strief back, sign a vet free agent, or draft an OT. Personally, I'd rather us not use a draft pick on an OT, b/c we're probably going to use a draft pick on an OG to replace Kelemete (some team will probably be willing to pay Kelemete more than we will in free agency).

Hopefully Cameron Tom has developed to the point where he can be counted on as Unger's backup at OC next year. LeRibeus can play both OG & OC. I assume he'll be brought back next year to compete in the preseason as well.
