You conveniently glossed over the grade and the hype that they gave the Steelers for their Jones pick.

very true...ill give you that expectations were different

with that being said i think WR is a position we need to upgrade and neither of those tennessee WRs were too bad...whats up with Nicktoon?

Hell even if you're elite maybe you don't draft a safety in the first.

Who was the last safety to justify being picked in the first round? Ed Reed?

Y'all act like Jones would sack the qb every time he snaps the ball... And if you want to bring up putting pressure on the qb, gallete, wilson, and butler will be just fine...

I am ok with the pick because of how versatile he is. He can defend run, cover slot receiver/reciever, cover TE, etc. With the pass happy league he can be valuable and we still have an opportunity to get another pass rusher with another pick. Maybe OLB J Collins from USM will fall to us.

True. But Jarvis Jones is either stud or bust. No in between. Vaccaro can come in and be solid from the start.

Seems we've been drafting the "safe pick" on defense for years. Jenkins was the sure thing. We need someone who can make an impact, change games, and hide some of the other shitstains we have on this unit.

Fvck taking the safe player every year.

I love jones but the injury is a concern.

I have made some peace with the Vaccaro pick as he seems solid and will help. I still think it was too early. Jones was the pick. But I want to bring up this because you're not the only person person who has brought up this "injury". He's not injured! He's been the sack leader in the SEfrickingC for the last 2 years. There is the potential of a neck injury, but he is not actively injured at all times.

Anyway, I hope Vaccaro turns out to be a stud

I like the Vaccaro pick, but as someone who follows walterfootball pretty closely, I can tell you he is horrible at giving out grades. Go read the grades for the first 10 picks or so, and you will fast realize how bad he is. The reasons for the grades just don't make any sense, and he is very much a hypocrite. He is also very biased when it comes to certain teams.

I was disappointed that they didn't trade back with SF. There is going to be tremendous value in the 2nd round and they needed to be in that mix.

You're assuming that the 9ers were interested in trading up with the saints. I think Mickey shopped the pick, couldnt get value they wanted, so they picked the guy that filled the need.

I wasn't happy about the pick either last night, but the more I think about it, our safeties are not great. Heres a guy who is good enough to play nickel corner in addition to both safety spots that can tackle too. He and Qaedus should put serious heat on Harper and Jenkins.

As long as he doesn't play like Brenda Vaccaro, I have no complaint.
Harper can go to another City and end every interview with his frickin "Roll Tide."

It's kinda hard for Matt Ryan and Cam Newton to throw from their backs. Jones was the pick. Saints fricked up like they ALWAYS do in the first round.

This.

Awful pick.

Galette, Wilson, Butler, Hawthorne, and Lofton will do this... Vaccaro will make sure they hold on to the ball long enough for them to do so.....
