I would like to see a healthy Jarvis Landry at a modest salary. We're still lacking depth at LB.

Happens with 2nd rounders sometimes. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Bringing Kwon back would make a lot of sense.

Hell, bring them both to the Saints, they both are still young (in their 20s I think) really good and talented LBs. Akiem Hicks is out there and would be really good depth at DT, and you got the Ngakoue kid out there that could be brought in for DE depth. PJ Williams and Janoris Jenkins out there for more quality DB depth. I don't know why Loomis is sitting on his hands, but a lot of these guys can be signed for veteran minimums I'm sure. A lot of them already know the Saints system by having played in it already.

Clancy Barone
17 year NFL vet
1st year with Saints. Coaching TE's
Has coached in multiple conference championships and two Super Bowls winning one.
Has coached a who's who of great TE's

"Barone has had four players voted to the Pro Bowl with four different teams: the Falcons' Alge Crumpler, the Chargers' Antonio Gates, the Broncos' Julius Thomas and the Vikings' Kyle Rudolph."

I sure missed this hire and I feel much better about our TE room

yep, great hire, he should benefit Juwan Johnson and Foster Moreau greatly, especially, the young guys that they have at TE.

Updated the OP...

-We signed OG Billy Price recently. I think he's a former 1st rounder

-I removed RB Dwayne Washington from the roster, b/c he isn't listed on Spotrac or OverTheCap anymore. We should be right at 90 players now

-#4 RB is wide open now if Dwayne Washington isn't on the roster. Eno Benjamin, Ellis Merriweather (UDFA), & Lynn Bowden are the candidates. I wouldn't mind adding another vet RB here

-Going into training camp...LB & Safety easily look like our 2 biggest needs imo.

Who punts?

I guess you haven’t watched any of the press conferences after the cuts. DA said STs have been a let down the past few years and the analytics say going for it on 4th down is better than punting or FGs. We’ll also be going for 2 every chance we get.
When a reporter asked about 4th and 10+ situations, he said we’ll just have Winston YOLO the shite out of it

Saints sign a former Titans player to their practice squad... LINK

It isn’t too uncommon to see NFL teams signing practice squad players who used to suit up for their next opponent, but that hasn’t been a common tactic for the New Orleans Saints over the years. So we probably shouldn’t take that angle with the team signing tight end Tommy Hudson on Monday, but it does add an element of intrigue to the move. Hudson’s signing was reported by the Saints on the daily NFL transactions wire, as the corresponding move of releasing rookie offensive lineman Mark Evans II to open a spot on the practice squad.

Hudson got his NFL start with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Arizona State back in 2020; the 6-foot-5, 255 pounder primarily worked as a blocker in their offense, and he signed with the Denver Broncos this summer for an extended tryout at training camp. The Broncos’ pillaging of the Saints tight ends room landed them Adam Trautman and Lucas Krull, though, so there wasn’t a spot left for Hudson.

He replaces Evans, a former left tackle at Arkansas-Pine Bluff who the Saints auditioned at both guard spots in preseason. Evans was one of the team’s highest-paid undrafted rookie pickups and there’s a good chance he could return after some other roster moves are completed.

As for Hudson? The Saints could have brought back veteran blocking tight end J.P. Holtz after they released him during roster cuts, but they chose to try and get younger at that spot instead. Snaps could be hard to come by for Hudson with Juwan Johnson, Foster Moreau, Jimmy Graham, and part-time quarterback Taysom Hill ahead of him on the depth chart.
