26
CB JASON VERRETT TCU - Led Big 12 in interceptions and pass breakups a year ago. Excellent in run support. I remember watching this guy smashing Laveon Bell (Mich St. RB) in the bowl game last year a few times.
57
S LAMARCUS JOYNER
FLORIDA STATE - Check out his film and highlights. Reminds me of the Honeybadger...Small, but can play every position in the defensive backfield.
90
DE JACKSON JEFFCOAT
TEXAS - He was named an Associated Press first-team All-American; he won the co-Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year; he earned a first-team All-Big 12; he was elected as a Walter Camp first-team All-American; and he was named winner of the 2013 Hendricks Award given to the best defensive end in the country. Big injury questions, but in the 3rd, worth a roll of the dice...
121
C TYLER LARSEN
UTAH STATE - 51 straight starts for this guy. 6'4" 315lbs. Grades out extremely well...
154
WR SHAQ EVANS
UCLA - Excellent punt returner. High upside guy...He might "redshirt" for a year for us.
185
CB STANLEY JEAN- BAPTISTE
NEBRASKA - My personal "sleeper pick". I think this guy will be a stud. 6'3" 220. Reminds me of Brandon Browner. I watched him a lot in college. He is a prototypical press man corner. Good in run support and blitzing. I predict he will be an excellent pro.
I found it interesting with all of the talk about switching to a 3-4, how little we actually lined up with 3 DL & 4 LBs. Lets face it, we play a ton of strong nickel and dime. If you watch the games, we actually played a lot of 4-2-5 with multiple safeties on the field at once. This is why I like the DB heavy draft.
I know people will say "what about a tackle or wr?" I say cut Greer, Harper, Robinson, Vilma, Smith, and let Jenkins walk in FA. Take all that $$ and go get a LT in FA.

We need to cut Smith just to get close to the salary cap. Cutting Harper saves ~$2m. Cutting Greer saves ~$3m (he's still playing good football). Cutting Robinson only saves $800k. Vilma is a FA and saves nothing. We're really not going to be able to free up enough space to sign a good LT. Maybe a competent one on his last leg. If we want to find a stud, it has to be through the draft (or Armstead, we'll see how he does in the postseason). That's why I'd love a guy like Erving. If Armstead doesn't work out, Erving can step in at LT. If Armstead looks to be our LT of the future, Erving has the size to play RT.

Has the league figured out where the salary cap will be next year? When does that usually happen? I think we should cut those players and let Vilma and Jenkins walk in FA...I'd also cut Lance Moore and try to restructure Colston. I'm interested in getting info on the cap. Where can I find this? How much under the cap would we need to be to sign a LT? Can we pro-rate the signing bonus over the course of the contract? I think we'd also have to factor in a franchise tag for Jimmy Graham.
The thought of breaking in a new LT while Brees is getting older makes me nervous...I'd much prefer a veteran if possible...Roger Saffold maybe, Eugene Monroe, or the guy from KC??

My Picks
1st
26 - ILB C.J. MOSLEY -Alabama
Sitting there at 26 he is too good to pass up. Would be nice having a stud ILB
2nd
57 - C TRAVIS SWANSON -Arkansas
Some rate Travis as the best center in the draft, so to get him late in the second would be huge
3rd
90 - S AHMAD DIXON -Baylor
Good safety, picked Dixon here incase both Harper and Jenkins don't come back. Bush is good but Dixon adds another versatile safety along with Vaccaro
4th
121 - RB DE’ANTHONY THOMAS -Orgeon
We need a playmaker and return man. I'd imagine using him as a slot receiver but man he could add some needed explosiveness
5th
154 - CB CHRIS DAVIS -Auburn
With Robinson and Greer's injuries adding depth here. Davis has had a solid senior season
6th
185 - WR RYAN GRANT -Tulane
Great hands and a late round sleeper. Hoping he can be a WR that can separate from man coverage

All signing bonuses are.

I'd also cut Lance Moore and try to restructure Colston
Moore is likely to take a paycut since I don't think he'll have much of a market. Depending on how we cut Colston, we either accelerate his entire signing bonus into 2014 (which costs us close to $2m, so he's cheaper to keep than cut) or we can accelerate into next season, which only saves us ~$500k. Given that we have no leverage to cut him, it's highly unlikely that he will take a paycut.
2014 is when they'll start converting Brees's base salary into signing bonuses, which spreads the cost over the remainder of his contract. They'll likely do this and extend him into years that he won't be playing, then take a massive cap hit when they eventually cut him. We still have Jordan and Graham to worry about over the next few seasons, plus Brees's base salary jumps almost $10m between 2014/15, so they still can't get crazy with that yet.

The receiver from Missouri Washington makes some great uncatchable passes. He also quick great hands he would be a steal in the six

I can't get any situation where Jordan Matthews falls to us
I want him so bad. He's a beast. I've been hoping the deepness of the WRs in this draft could push him down to us. Watkins, Evans, and Lee are all there and mostly going higher by consensus.

There was never a point where there was a decent enough OT on the board for me to take without reaching. I therefore picked based on the assumption that TA works out or we get a vet in FA.
and yes I had to refresh like 4 times to get a scenario where Matthews was there for us at 26
