Devestating. I remember this game as simply devestating. I was at the "Flipper Anderson = Jerry Rice" game. Everything Everett threw up at him he grabbed. The worst part of it was that it reminded me of the Lansford game.

To me... Porter's interception to save the NFC Championship game is a much more worthy play.
Yeah I'm not sure how that got left off.

I get to be Debbie Downer on this one... I've never been a fan of "Hakim Drops the Ball" as a "great" play in Saints history.
Great play? No not the best, but it was still a great moment.

It's based off of another player's horrible error... not anything the Saints did to cause it.
Porter was in excellent position but Favre threw across his body to the middle of the field. Great play by Porter but an errant throw by Favre.

1. Hartley's Kick (My greatest moment ever as a Saints fan--so mind-boggling surreal that we were finally in the Super Bowl that it still defies comprehension everytime I re-watch the NFCCG)
2. Gleason's Block (when a sports moment trancended football--The Saints and a City were alive again. That was powerful & unforgettable.)
3. Porter's Pick-Six (cemented our Super Bowl win & I almost popped an artery in my head from screaming so loud)
4. Hakim Drops the Ball (epic moment of euphoria that sealed our first ever playoff win)
My #5 moment isn't a play, but an enitre game: that trouncing of New England in 2009. It had an electric playoff vibe & mass euphoria due to 3.5 hours of flawless domination over the leaugue's most respected team. It signaled our arrival to the nation, and every minute of it was intoxicating.
EDIT: Porter's pick didn't happen in the Superdome, but it's still my 3rd best Saints moment.

i think everyone agrees - your number 3 is one of the top 3 greatest - if not the greatest moment in saints history overall.

The Saints fell to 8-8, and a 17th consecutive season of non-winning. Had the Saints won, they could have made the playoffs for the first time.
Let me tell you... this play was easily the most crushing of its time for the Saints. I was just a little kid at the time. I ran to my bedroom, buried my face in my pillow and CRIED. That's how bad it was.
I was also a little kid but remember exactly where I was watching that kick take place. I was absolutely crushed. No way I should have cared that much at such a young age, but I did.

1. Hartley's kick
2. Porter's INT of Favre
3. Hakim drops ball
4. Gleason's block
big gap with 5.
That Deuce run was emotional as hell. The Patriots MNF of 09 was one of the loudest games ive ever been to in the dome, but I cant say anyone play stands out.
Im fishing to find something from the AZ playoff game of 09.
-McCray's block of Warner on Will Smith's INT?
-Reggie Bush electric TD run?
one of those 2 maybe.
also surprised no one has mentioned Turley's helmet rip or Joe Horn cell phone antics. Not really great plays, but funny moments nonetheless

The gleason block definitely holds number one in my book.

One that deserves a Top 10 ranking:
The Bobby Hebert 30 plus yard TD pass to beat Seattle as time expires in the 4th quarter.
Does anyone not remember more specifically the details?
I was eleven and the Dome was one of th loudest I ever heard it.

why is the last link (Blocked Falcons punt) linked to Anderson kicking the FG?

Easily the most disappointing, frustrating, and &^#* play in Saints history. I recall it vividly.
Saints leading with about one minute left and punt to LA. Not only are the Saints going for their first winning season, but their first ever playoff birth. I remember seeing LA drive in the waning seconds to kick a perfect FG. I have never been so pissed and upset with a Saints game and nothing comes close to it--in any sporting event.
When watching the saints getting ready to punt in the Hakeem drops the ball game, I was having flashbacks. Given the history, i would not have been surprised had it happened again.
No more though.

Porter's pick is not on the list because it's a list of things that happened INSIDE the Superdome. Othwerwise, of course it would be there.

A great play that always stuck in my mind from an unfortunate loss was in 1991 when the Saints lost to the Bears in the Dome. The play was a 60 yd FG by Morten in the second quarter. At the time this was the second longest FG in NFL history behind ole half foot's 63 yarder and was Mortens career long. The reason this play always stuck in my memory is because I remember this being a very important game and the Dome was rocking because we had lost to the Bears in Chicago in the Wild Card Round the year before. Unfortunately a late TD reception by Tom Waddle from Jim Harbaugh earned the Bears the win. But when Morten kicked that FG to put the Saints up 10-6 I felt that was going to be a huge turning point and was going to lead to something great. Although they didn't win the Saints did march on to winning their first division championship that year. I also remember the kick seemed like it would have been good from at least 70 yds out.

I wanna say that was the Saints-Bears game where Harbaugh was something like 2 of 14 in that game with his two big completions coming in that last drive for the win.
It was disgusting because we thoroughly smacked Harbaugh & the Bears offense around for 3 hours or so, and then the ole losing Saints found a way to let the Bears steal one out of the Dome with just minutes left.
Then Ditka made news for his fired up post-game presser: "Now that was smash-mouth football!!! That is the way footbal was meant to be played! It doesn't get any better than that!" and all I could think was "ahhh, frick you."
Was that the same game?

My favorite was back in '99 when Ditka mismanaged the clock and was booed off the field and made an obscene gesture at the crowd.

Any list like this has to include the Porter pick. Without it, we likely lose that game. I'd rank them like this
1. Hartley kick (undoubtedly one of the most surreal moments of my life)
2. Porter picks off Favre
3. Gleason block
4. Hakim dropped the ball

yall are forgetting reggie's first career TD... late in the fourth quarter, a punt return to beat TB in 2006
andre hastings caught a 89 yard TD in 1998 and played leap frog in the end zone
deuce made a hell of a run against TB after his helmet was taken off
also the first drive of the minnesota opener after we dropped the banner. i've never thought the saints looked more invincible. after that TD i thought we were gonna run through the league 19-0 and repeat.

I have a good story about this.'
I was at a camp at the time and was listening to the radio. When he dropped the ball I heard cheers from campsites all around the place. It was awesome.
