It's been over for 4 years. Just paying a qb 24 million to go 7-9. Need to move on

It looked and felt nothing like the Saints we are use to. I don't know what that was. We've lost before but we didn't even run the two minute drill before half well.. something we always do well.

Yep. Texted my brother the same thing, I said this shite is stale and has passed SP by. I was actually fooled by the preseason thinking the D was good. What a disservice to Brees as they've wasted his prime years because they can't field even a mediocre fricking defense. 4 red zone 4 FG's doomed them. SP used to be innovative now he's predictable and lazy. Brees didn't even look that great for those 4 tries either. And of course watching the same WR continue to catch pass after pass sicken,y reminded me of Vernon Davis.

I'm so tired of watching piss poor defense that I may just save the heartache and not be so tied into them. Of course my hope is when we get players back they make that leap and play like we saw. But what I saw tonight makes me feel like nothing too great is going to happen.

Losing happens and I get that. What I don't get is kicking a FG when you're down 17, it's 4th and goal at their 2 and there's less than 8 minutes left...or huddling up and letting the clock run down when you're way behind. These are things you don't normally associate with CSP or with Drew.

Also, the Vikings were 9 of 14 on 3rd down conversions. That stings.

All offseason, fans clamor for more runs and a more balanced attack. We get more runs and do ok moving the ball until Strief goes out. If we get TDs on those first 2 drives and don't lose Strief, it's a totally different game.

If this team was set up to where we lose one offensive lineman and we get run over like a freight train then who shoulders that blame?
Loomis and Payton are directly responsible for the personnel on this team!

Defense made Sam Bradford look exceptional. 346 yards passing....Sam Bradford?

Saints offense sucked arse and the play calling was bad, but that defense was terrible.

Afraid it will be a loooooooong season and time to turn the page on the CSP era.

I may be one of the few who actually did not care for 2013. Compared to every other playoff team Sean has fielded, that one never felt like it had a chance to go all the way.

The defense was really solid and fun to watch but the offense that year was very off IMO. It was the first time I felt like the OL was bad and our WRs were old. The offense was inconsistent because of it.

We were a good team that year but it seemed every time we played Seattle all I could think about was that we weren't going to win. We got embarrassed at Seattle in the regular season and even during the playoff loss...even though the game was technically tight at the end, I did not think we would be able to drive all the way, score a TD, get the 2 point conversion, force overtime, and somehow actually win.

It was the first time during the Sean/Drew era I felt that way while facing another team. Since then it seems getting embarrassed on the road has become more of a recurring theme(still see the Cowboys scoring at will on us) along with losing our mojo in the dome.

Brees in 13 >>>>>>>> Brees in 10. So much more efficient. Graham that year was arguably the biggest mismatch in the league. 2010 team lost to a 7-9 squad and was playing bums at RB. Unfortunately they ran into the buzz saw that was Seattle

I wasn't taking into account the injuries. I think if we had won the Seattle game we would have actually gotten a few of those RBs back.

I don't disagree on the efficiency of Brees but the difference between the 2 teams IMO was the overall depth of the offense. In 2013 everyone knew where the ball was going. In 2010 the ball was still going everywhere because we had multiple effective options.
