Is there anyone good enough that a team would want to pay the Saints and significant enough amount
If the talent isn't great, we should downgrade the charts. It's insane how NFL teams don't do this and refuse dynamic analysis of draft pick value.

There are like 9 blue chippers in the draft this year.
Who?

shouldn't Ione be the clear-cut pick? The fact that it fills a need is secondary.
I agree that he would be the best player available. In a trade down to 12-14, it would be a no brainer selection. Many will hate it because it isn’t a sexy position, but we can get a WR in the 2nd.
I like the 2nd round guys more this year anyway since the top 3 guys aren’t very “elite” types

In broad terms, what would be good value for the Saints to move back?
Last year Cleveland got a (high) 2nd and a 4th round pick from Jacksonville, along with Jacksonville's 1st round pick this year (24th) to allow Jacksonville to move from 5 to 2 (Cleveland got Jacksonville's 5). Cleveland also gave Jacksonville a 4th and 6th last year.

Not really comparable when you’re comparing 8-12ish and the top of the round.
2nd this year and next is what the calculators are saying, including the new NOF one
ETA
I would add this: Downs might be one of the only elite level guys left at our pick. If you’re going to pick a safety, I think you can get Thieneman or EMW around ~18 for not a lot of drop off and get a huge amount of resources in exchange

Rams prob the best suitor bc they are already a great team and from many accounts REALLY wanna lock down a good receiver. I think they’d be willing

The supply of people who would trade down exceeds the number of people who want to trade up. That means any value in trading back would be greatly diminished.
There might be some teams interesting in trading with the Cardinals who want to move down because you can get a Love or Reese or Styles. Besides that, there won’t be a bunch of teams who want to move up.
And if Love, Reese or Styles falls to us, we should take that player. Not move back.
In your example, you say the Rams might want to move up for Tyson. But they could easily stand pat and get either Tyson, Tate or Lemon who are all viewed as the top WRs.

It depends on who they want. All the reporting today is now saying the Giants, who are at 10, want Tyson.
They might have to go to 7 to get him, and that causes the Rams to get nervous and make a trade themselves after the WR run starts

I don’t think any of them fall to us
