Thoughts on This Mock?

I paid the 10 bucks for the premium version of the draft network (yes, I'm that bored) so this includes trades I made. If anything, I think they're a little stingy on trades so I think this could be a pretty realistic haul. It limits you to trading this current year's picks, but obviously we would more likely use next year picks and keep those later rounders.
IRL, trading with the Bears for 43 and 50 could be a nice move to yield similar results.
44. AJ Terrell CB, Clemson
51. Brandon Aiyuk WR, Arizona State
96. Nick Harris IOL, Washington
153. Logan Wilson LB, Wyoming
Edit: trading back a little farther worked out even better. Yes... I know Aiyuk probably won't be there, but the magic draft machine let me have him
55. Brandon Aiyuk WR, Arizona State - Brandon Aiyuk is a dynamic receiving prospect who possesses an exciting ceiling at the NFL level. Thriving in vertical routes and in run after catch scenarios, Aiyuk is a height/weight/speed mismatch who showcases splendid short area quickness, explosiveness and ability to stress coverage vertically. He'll need to hone is releases versus physical press coverage but in the meantime Aiyuk could find immediate success in the slot while honing boundary skills.
60. Damon Arnette CB, Ohio State - Damon Arnette Jr. projects as a universal scheme prospect at the NFL level — he possesses great functional strength, quickness, body control and ball skills. Arnette has the technique to play press or off man coverage but the burst and anticipation to play in zone coverage as well. Look for Arnette to find his place in a starting lineup quickly at the NFL level, although he may never be the focal point of an NFL secondary due to lack of elite length to shadow top receivers. A plus starter.
75. Jordyn Brooks LB, Texas Tech - Jordyn Brooks projects as a sub-package defender at the NFL level. Working Brooks into a 3-down role is likely to require him to play the WILL, where his range and short area quickness can be amplified without tasking him to address blockers with consistency. Brooks' game is predicated around playing in space and being slippery to attack the LOS — his best value comes as a QB spy or blitz player. He's a fairly visual defender, so giving him free roaming reps is a must for best results.
99. Ben Bredeson IOL, Michigan - Ben Bredeson projects as a starting guard at the NFL level. There appears to be enough versatility to project Bredeson into a number of concepts and systems, although his functional power and ability to reset the LOS should have him coveted highest on boards that implement primarily gap/power rushing concepts. Bredeson, if able to work on getting his initial hand strikes to stick on defenders with more consistency, would be a quality starter and asset up front.

I would be pleased with Aiyuk in the 2nd round, but I don't think he'll be there at 51.

Yeah, I don't think so either. They have him ranked around 45-46 I think. WR is deep tho, I think someone in that top group will slide a little just since there are so many.

We aren't getting that haul for pick 24.
A more realistic haul would be the Dolphins 39 & 70.
Teams stick closely to the chart.

This. He was a whipping boy

On another run I got Aiyuk at 42 and Damon Arnette (CB, Ohio St) at 55. That may be a more realistic scenario.

I was also very active on the phones:
55. Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson
60. Cameron Dantzler, CB, Mississippi State
87. Jordyn Brooks, LB, Texas Tech
100. Tyler Biadasz, IOL, Wisconsin

Very. AJ Terrell is a beast. Would very much like to have him.

Uh...I don't know. If the WR from Clemson would be available in the second round, I can see the Saints trading out of the first to get either 2 picks in the second or a second and a player for #24.
If not, I see them going after Jefferson, the lb from oklahoma or Queen if he is available.

Higgins will be available in the second bc he is a bust

He might be. It's just hard for me to shake the fact that in one of his only games against NFL caliber receivers Terrell looked like a complete liability. LSU did that to a lot of corners this year though

The money of this draft is in the 2nd and 3rd round so i wouldn’t be surprised if they try to trade back but that just not in Payton’s DNA

No thank you for Terrell. Just can’t get that image out of my head of him being burnt toast in the naty but then again , Chase made a lot of CBs look like that this year , including Diggs from Ala , who will prob be a top 20 pick

Agree, more likely to keep our first and trade our 3rd & next year's 2nd to get a 2nd this year.
