The Ugly Truth

The Saints golden era was a 2 man show. Both of those men are gone, but the organization’s “leadership” was so ate up with hubris that they thought they could promote a sub-par coach, fill in gaps at key positions, and keep kicking the collapse down the road. Well, the collapse is here. From where I stand, this season is shot and has been shot for a while. Given that we have no first for 2023, next year should be a wash as well.
Gayle Benson and/or Dennis Lauscha needs to nut up and clean house, and that starts with Loomis and DA. But they need to reevaluate everything and everyone in the building. The Saints also need to offload as many bad contracts and old players as they can. The team needs to grin and bear it in 2023, then hopefully be in position to draft a top QB prospect in 2024 and start the rebuild. The question is if Benson has the metaphorical nuts to make these changes, and I don’t think she does.
I know this is just my opinion and nobody cares, but that’s how I see things. It’s embarrassing to call yourself a Saints fan as long as they keep rolling out this shite product every week.

I’ve been of the opinion that there is justification to letting Allen be the sacrificial lamb in 2023 if we’re going to a full rebuild
Not anymore. I’m worried about young core players being corrupted.

I share the same opinion. Sean Payton and Loomis made the decision to promote DA. I guarantee you Payton thought it was a great idea.

She doesn't have the nuts to do it? Umm this woman, told Loomis to step aside so that Griff could handle basketball because she knew Griff wouldnt take the job if she didnt give him control.Remember, Loomis was f ING that side of the franchise as well.

Watch them roll over and trade Payton’s rights to some team for a second rounder

Oh I’m fully anticipating that. He’s “dear friend” or some shite so we let him go on the cheap

Gail is an absentee owner that never wanted to get involved. She wants the team to win for the city, but doesn’t want to have to make any decisions with respect to the organization. She just cuts the checks. Lauscha and Loomis have been together for a long time, and they aren’t firing themselves.
The reality is the Saints continued to hold on to hope that they were still good enough to win now. That’s why they mortgaged the draft. After 15 years of the Brees/Payton mindset it was hard to let that go. Unfortunately, reality is setting in

And there ain't a light at the end of the tunnel. We are in cap hell from win now mode getting crushed by Goodell and our big time investments sitting on the bench with a stubbed toe have huge dead cap.
I suggest watching the games like we did back in the day and enjoy the epic ways we will find to lose. Tonight was a great start.
