The Tight End position.

I know we have serious needs on the Oline, but I can’t help but notice all the teams in the championship games have ELITE tight ends.
The lions got a gem in Laporta.
Kittle
Andrews*
And Kelce
Is it just me or does this seem essential for any deep playoff team in the modern NFL?
Johnson is OK, but should we be considering drafting a TE in the early rounds?
Our best years came when we had Elite TE play- Graham and Shockey.
I feel giving CArr that option would make our offense so much more efficient.
What are your thoughts?

Was thinking the same thing watching Kelce and Lapotra bail out their QB's but I understand Kelce's don't just grow on trees.
I was disappointed they didn't get a TE in the '23 draft as their were several into the 3 and 4th round that IMO will be valuable assets to their teams.

We have a nice receiving option at te in Johnson. The new OC needs to get him the ball more

I actually agree with this. I don't think Johnson is a secret top 5 TE, but I think it's hard to evaluate our skill players when our offense has been stuck in 2006. I want to see it running a modern offense and we can go from there.

Dude, we have Jimmy Graham. What more can you want?

I don't think we use what we got. Pete sucked using them. I really like Juwan and believe
he is a quality TE and think he was terribly under used like the rest.

Good offensive architects will use weapons at every position and have them be viable on most, if not all, pass plays. The TE position is an afterthought for a guy like Pete. We will see what the new OC decides to do with the guys on the roster.

The injury this year hurt him. Then came the drops. I agree that he is an OK option as a r3ceiver. I think next year he will be back to normal.
Johnson should catch 55 balls, around 600/700 yards, and 5 tds.

The Saints were top 10 in targets to the tight end position.
Carr trusts Johnson. Johnson's injury set him back thi yr. Zapped some of his confidence. He started dropping easy balls.

I agree, but man our O Line needs help. That being said if Brock Bowers is there you have to take him.

So want Bowers if he is there

The best teams had the best offensive lines and offensive lineman.
Trent Williams, Zack Martin, Lane Johnson, Laremy Tunsil, Creed Humphrey, Joe Thuney, and Penei Sewell.
We need to develop our OL and DL.
