The defense is a mirror image of the offense

Hear me out...

The defense goes up against the offense every day on practice. Other than Drew the best the secondary sees is Willie Snead.

I'm not saying Snead is bad, but the D probably matches up well in practice.

So, come game time these secondary defenders can't keep up with the other teams 1's, making the likes of Devante Harris and Sterling Moore look like they should...udfa's

In other words...you play how you practice.

I kept reading hoping there was a payoff to the ambitious title but no, there is no sensible logic here

Haha...forgot about Michael Thomas.

Look, our receiving corp is not hard to match up with. Sorry, but it's true. Our secondary probably looks good in practice against this receiving corp. That's all I'm saying. The weapons are not there like they used to be.

And yes, this makes sense. Stefon Diggs is the shiftiest WR that secondary has seen thus far...bc the Saints don't have anybody like that on the team (and don't give me Go Route Ginn). So, of course, he was able to exploit the secondary.

If Amendola is out this week I like our chances.

I'm retarded??

Ok, so if your professor says your going to have a test on Microbiology tomorrow, but does not give you any material to study, how well would you do??

The Saints don't have the material. I like our chances with the Odells, Julios, and Evans. But not the Diggs, Edelmans, and Browns.

So you're saying going up against our offense is not tough for defensive backs? The offense that throws for 5000 yards a year consistently? I don't buy that.

I just think our secondary is young and not overly talented aside from one rookie CB. Of course they're having trouble. Harris isn't an NFL player outside of special teams.

Negative!

I'm saying that our DBs matchup well with our WRs. Like 1 on 1 matchups.

So how is the Vikings defense so good? They face a shitty QB and a shitty offensive line every day in practice and yet they have a really good defense.

LSU has faced shitty QB play in practice everyday for 10 years and yet I watch them shut down good QBs all the time. Your analogy doesn't work and it's stupid

These are professional athletes man. The corners look bad because they are bad, practicing against Antonio Brown every day doesn't mean your corners are going to shut down Stefon Diggs. That can have a big impact in the developmental stage of a guys career (high school, college) but it's minuscule at this level

Source: Steelers finished 19th in pass defense last season.

I would agree about the mirror image comment but not those reasons.

They are mirror images because the offense can move the ball down the field but can't cash in when in the red zone. The defense is solid on 1st and 2nd downs but can't cash in on 3rd downs. Mirror images. They play just well enough to keep you hopeful only to punch you in the face when it comes to scoring TDs and forcing punts.

Yep. Our interior run defense & LB play was legit against the Vikings. Got gashed on some runs to the outside, couldn't pressure the QB, & the DB's couldn't consistently cover(Allen's scheme is partly to blame here). Recipe for disaster on 3rd down.

Call it stupid all you want.

The fact of the matter is that we have a bunch of UDFAs that only see Primetime competition during game time.

It would be different if we had some players that played on other NFL teams that may have went 1 on 1 in practice with great WRs. But they have not.

We picked them up last year as udfa's and expect them to play like a 1st round draft pick.

Who have they gone 1 on 1 with in practice??? No one at an Elite level...i know that.

Michael Thomas, you dumb frick. Thomas is better than any Vikings WR.
Snead is better than all but Diggs.

If Devante Harris faced Julio Jones every day in practice he would still suck. He has no talent.

Hey dumbfrick...

Michael Thomas is good, but not elite. Secondly, hes not the type of receiver that will eat these DBs to shreds.

If you think that Michael Thomas is elite then your delusional. Yes, he has the potential to be elite..the most of anyone on the entire team. But, he is not there yet.
